Event: Sowing Seeds Here and Now! A Chesapeake Urban Farming/ An Evening With Will Allen
Date: June 15, 2010
We just learned that due to a critical health situation precipitated by a previous injury, Will Allen will be unable to travel to be with us in person for An Evening with Will Allen at Busboys and Poets on Thursday and Sowing Seeds Here and Now! on Friday. Will is as disappointed by this development as we are, and as we know you must be; however his health must take precedence and we wish him the best with his treatment and recovery.
Because Will understands how deep the commitment to urban agriculture is among the incredible speakers and hundreds of people attending these two events, he is making special arrangements to join us for both of these events via live video remote. We are excited that technology will allow us still to benefit from his unique insight and motivation as we gather to talk about the forces shaping urban farming in our region.
Will is also committed to rescheduling his visit for the fall, after his recuperation, to celebrate the first harvest at our Edmonston Community Farm. All those who purchased tickets for Sowing Seeds Here and Now! and/or An Evening with Will Allen at Busboys and Poets will recieve advance notice of new opportunities to meet and hear from Will Allen during his rescheduled visit.
The show must go on and the seeds must grow on! We will see you on Thursday and Friday for networking and information sharing with dozens of presenters from our community and from across the country, many of whom are “Offshoots” of Growing Power’s Regional Outpost Network. Let’s maintain our momentum and get our projects moving, so that in the fall, Will can witness what Chesapeake urban farming is all about!
Sincerly,
Margaret Morgan-Hubbard CEO & Staff of Engaged Community Offshoots
